Supported environments#

Mirr Code can be used on macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Operating systemSupported environment
macOSApple Silicon (M series) and Intel Macs
WindowsIntel/AMD 64-bit (x64) and ARM64
LinuxIntel/AMD 64-bit (x64) and ARM64

Using WSL? In WSL, follow the Linux installation guide, not the Windows one. Installing Mirr Code on Windows does not make it available in WSL; install it separately in the WSL terminal when needed.

What you need#

Terminal#

Mirr Code is used in a terminal, where you type commands. Open Terminal on macOS or Linux, or PowerShell on Windows to install and start.

If you have not used a terminal before, start by copying and running the command for your operating system in the installation guide.

Internet connection#

An internet connection is needed to download Mirr Code and to send requests to and receive responses from the Mirr model.

Patty account#

To use the Mirr model, sign in with a Patty account. Follow the sign-in guide.

Installation and version checks can be done before signing in.

Do I also need Node.js or npm?#

You do not need to install Node.js or npm before installing Mirr Code. Follow the official installation guide for your operating system.

Some projects or external tools may need additional programs when you run them with Mirr Code. Those needs are separate from Mirr Code's own installation requirements, so prepare them according to the relevant project or tool guidance.

There is no need to install every development tool before starting. Begin with what your current task requires.

Working in a project#

To inspect or modify an existing project, you need access to its files and folders. Writing or modifying files also requires write permission.

If you use a computer managed by a company or institution, check that program installation and project file access are allowed.

Next steps#

When you are ready, go to Install on your operating system to install Mirr Code. After installation, sign in to your account.
