Installation and sign-in problems

Fix installation failures, missing commands, and sign-in errors.

The command cannot be found after installation#

Close your terminal completely, open a new one, and run mirr --version. On Windows, open a new PowerShell window too.

If the command is still missing, look for the completion message and installation path in the installer log. The default executable is ~/.local/bin/mirr on macOS/Linux or %USERPROFILE%\.local\bin\mirr.exe on Windows.

If the executable exists but the command cannot be found, follow the installer's PATH instructions. PATH is the list of folders your terminal searches for programs. Installing Node.js or npm is not the solution.

The installer cannot download files#

Check your internet connection and the address in the installation guide. On a managed computer, ask your administrator whether the download is allowed.

If the download address returns 404 or file not found, the availability of the installation file needs checking. Contact support with the URL and error text. Do not install an unrelated package as a substitute.

A required program is missing#

missing required command means a basic program used by the installer is unavailable. For missing download or archive tools on Ubuntu/Debian Linux, you can install:

sudo apt-get install curl tar coreutils gawk

Use your distribution's package manager on other Linux systems. If a basic tool is missing on macOS or you do not have management permissions, ask the operating-system or device administrator for help. If file verification fails, do not disable verification; download again or request support.

The browser does not open#

Open the address displayed by mirr login yourself. If asked for a verification code, use the one shown in that same terminal. Keep the terminal waiting for authentication open.

Browser sign-in succeeds but the terminal does not finish#

Signing in to the website and completing the Mirr Code connection are separate steps. After browser verification, the terminal should display a completion message. If the code expires, run the command again and use the new address and code.

Follow the displayed instructions for account-access, pending-approval, or device-limit errors. See the sign-in guide if you authenticated with another account or need to start again.

You do not need to copy authentication files manually or enter your password in a settings file. If the error persists, send support the message with secrets removed.
